Commodity Description :

About 400 varieties of dates are cultivated in Iran, but only few of them compose the major kinds due to taste. Mazafati is one of them.

Mazafati Dates or Mozafati (Persian: ) is a dark, soft, fleshy and sweet date of medium size (2.5 to 4.5 cm), with a relatively high moisture content of between 32-35%. The date is suited for fresh consumption, i.e., not dried. It can be kept for up to 2 years at a temperature of 0 - 5 degrees Celsius (23 oF).

Mazafati dates have various nutrients, from the minerals calcium and magnesium to vitamins like vitamin A, vitamin B complex, and vitamin C. Moreover, dates are low in fat and high in fiber and protein content, which makes them healthy snacks between meals.

Place Of Origin :

Mazafati Dates are grown in southern Iran, mainly in Bam, Jiroft, Kahnuj (in Kerman province), Saravan, Nikshahr, Haji Abad and Iranshahr (in Sistan-o-Baluchestan province).
